This Queen needs a King size bed!
I can’t believe my husband and and I have been married for almost 18 years this year. When we first lived together (yeah, we shacked up…), he had a full sized bed and then we moved into a bigger apartment in New Jersey after getting married and having our first kid. When we moved to NJ we furnished our apartment with Mission furniture and at that time could only afford a Queen bed. Some how, we managed to sleep in a bed that I now consider extremely small. When our boys were little, there were times, when the four of us were in the bed together (you know, a nightmare, or mommy — I can’t sleep…). I can’t tell you how many times, I’ve decked my husband in the middle of the night.
What prompted me to write this blog topic was when I woke up the other morning, I noticed that my husband was sleeping in the middle of the bed and I had no room. I always have to tell him to move over! Now that I am going through an early menopause, I get hot flashes and can’t stand to have anyone near me. There have been many times, that I end up kicking him or punching him. Not because I am a wild sleeper, but if I just happen to turn over slightly and he’s right up on me the next thing you know, I wake up to him screaming “awe jeez”. I usually apologize, but have to remind him that-that wouldn’t have happened if he stayed his butt on his side of the bed.
I know the answer to this issue is just to get a King Size bed, but until then, I guess I’ll sleep like a Queen instead of a King!
