Man, this economy is something isn’t it!  I started looking for a job a few months back and it’s rough out there.  I decided to touch base with former employers only to find out that they have hiring freezes.  I’m not surprised, but I do know that it is going to get better — or I hope it will.  In the mean time, I do have a Real Estate license…  Now, I know what you’re thinking — the market is a mess.  Well, on the contrary, it’s starting to come back — at least in the area where I live and that’s what matters to me.

So, while my former employers work through their highering freezes and department re-orgs, I will work with what I have and that’s Real Estate.  I decided to hire myself and start by making fresh contacts — yep, I did the old fashioned “cold calling” and it works!  There are both buyers and sellers out there and I am finding them.  It’s a lot of work, but I’m willing to do what it takes.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not making light of the country’s unemployment situation, I’m just telling you what I’ve decided to do.  So, my message is, if there is any way at all that you can hire yourself — then do it.  It could be the best thing you ever did!
